Why Digital Education?

I am the Student Services Manager in TU Dublin Blanchardstown campus.  I have responsibility for the Student Disability Support Service and work in the area of widening access and participation in higher education.  I am doing the Masters in Higher Education, on a module by module basis.  Digital Education appeals to me, but as part of a blended learning approach.  I like a structured environment and enjoy the interaction of a classroom setting, yet I don’t like taking detailed notes while engaging in an interactive class.  So the VLE’s such as Brightspace, providing digital notes and materials helps to backup the information and allows re-engagement with the material.

My engagement with diverse learners needing a range of learning supports, reaffirms my belief in the need for Universal Design for Learning.
